Job summary

FirstLine Schools is seeking a Self-Contained Special Education Teacher for the Discovery Plus Program to serve students with cognitive needs in grades 3–8. The role emphasizes implementing rigorous curriculum and collaboration with related service providers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of lead teaching for students with cognitive needs.
• Demonstrated success in urban, open-admissions schools.
• BA or BS in a relevant field.
• Louisiana SPED certification completed or in progress, or eligibility.
• Experience with UNIQUE curriculum preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized lessons aligned to standards for students with disabilities.
• Provide feedback and adjust lessons based on student data and progress.
• Collaborate with related service providers and paraprofessionals.
• Maintain compliant IEP documentation and related records.
• Oversee paraprofessional staff and coordinate schedules.
