Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is seeking a detail-oriented Payments Clerk to process disbursement payments, perform reconciliations, and support audits. This role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to policies, and timely payments in a fast-paced environment.

Hybrid or onsite in Kansas/Missouri, with relocation possible; requires residing in Kansas or Missouri. You will collaborate with Accounting Services and internal teams to ensure smooth payment operations and strong financial controls.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree preferred in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Less than 1 year in banking/accounts payable role required.
• Minimum 2 years in business operations or banking environment required.
• Experience with accounting software preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Produce and distribute checks processed within Accounting Services.
• Process manual claim payments outside of the claims system and pay broker commissions.
• Reconcile daily claim reports to the check register and administer the payment reconciliation system to ensure accuracy of payments and reports.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and conduct related research to resolve discrepancies and maintain financial accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in processing payments.
• Research and respond to payment inquiries and resolve issues timely and professionally.
• Identify and document system issues to be resolved, recommending system or process enhancements for improved efficiency.
• Manage the escheatment for reporting unclaimed property to the state.
• Provide support to internal and external auditors regarding disbursement transactions and policies.
