Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is seeking a Disbursement Payments Specialist to ensure accurate payments and timely processing. The role supports internal and external audits and requires careful attention to policy compliance.

The position offers hybrid or onsite work in Kansas/Missouri with relocation options. A high school diploma and accounting-related education are required, plus experience in banking or accounts payable is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 1+ year in banking/accounts payable or cash disbursement? required; minimum 2 years in business operations or banking recommended.

Responsabilités

• Produce and distribute checks processed within Accounting Services.
• Process manual claim payments outside the claims system and pay broker commissions.
• Reconcile daily claim reports to the check register and ensure accuracy.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies in processing payments.
• Respond to payment inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
• Identify system issues and suggest improvements.
• Manage escheatment reporting unclaimed property to the state.
• Support auditors on disbursement transactions and policies.
