Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking an Emergency Disaster Services trainer/coordinator to support training and disaster response across Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. The role involves coordinating volunteers, equipment, and partnerships with local agencies, and delivering EDS material both in person and virtually.

Required are 3+ years in emergency management or disaster response with training experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred, plus strong communication

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Emergency Management or Disaster Response including training.
• Bachelor’s degree in emergency management preferred.
• Strong administrative skills and documentation ability.

Responsibilities

• Support Emergency Disaster Service department across Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota.
• Provide in-person and virtual EDS training to volunteers and staff.
• Coordinate disaster response: supplies, equipment, volunteers, and resources.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with partners and first responders.
• Maintain relationships with local and state emergency agencies and VOAD.
• Assist with divisional plans, reports, and data collection for THQ.
