We are seeking a Senior Programs Specialist to join our International Disaster Response Unit (IDRU) team in Boone, NC. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of Senior Programs Specialist,you will have the opportunity to:
Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
Manage the Incident Management Team (IMT) and communicate with Senior Leadership and DART Team Lead to make strategic decisions during disaster response
Manage IMT strategy/planning process and engage in grant proposal process
Make recommendations for strategic program responses with input from the Technical Advisory Unit
Serve as a go-between for daily, working-level operations of the IMT, DART, and Response Manager
Drive systems improvement by guiding After Action Review process and collaborating with Subject Matter Experts
Work with DART Leadership, Technical Advisors, and Awards Management team to create framework, proposals, and budgets for future response flash appeals
Analyze and make recommendations for pre-positioned DART inventory
Support and mentor DART members by means of specialty training development, Position Description creation and maintenance, and DART position checklist updates
Lead and support the transition from emergency response to field office or early recovery phase and support country office and headquarters leadership with reporting and recording historical knowledge of disaster response activities
Deploy on DART responses in key leadership positions, including roles that oversee all DART staff in the field

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in Emergency Management, International Development, or related field and four (4) or more years of International Field experience in the areas of Leadership and Program Management; or equivalent combination of education and experience
12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, opportunity to meet and complete requirement is available upon hire.
