Job summary

Essential HealthCare Solutions, LLC seeks Florida-licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for hurricane shelter support in Southwest Florida. This PRN/temporary, on-call role deploys to multiple LCEC shelter sites and may involve 12-hour shifts, days/nights, and extended deployments, with meals and lodging provided during qualifying deployments.

Under RN supervision, you will deliver basic nursing care, administer treatments, monitor vital signs, and assist with triage and referrals, contributing to

Qualifications

• Active Florida LPN license required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Ability to pass a background screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care to shelter occupants under RN direction.
• Administer treatments and medications within LPN scope.
• Deliver first aid, monitor vital signs, manage minor illnesses/injuries.
• Collect clinical data and assist RN with screenings and referrals.
• Respond to on-site medical incidents and provide nursing care until EMS assumes care.
• Monitor for heat illness, dehydration, fatigue, and infectious-disease concerns.
• Implement infection-prevention practices and advise on mitigation measures.
• Assist with setup of shelter medical station and maintain supply inventory.
• Maintain accurate documentation and incident notes.
• Escalate serious incidents promptly to RN and management.
