Job summary

Missouri Department of Natural Resources seeks an Environmental Emergency Response Coordinator to lead ESF #3 operations during state emergencies and coordinate with MDNR partners. This role involves liaison work within the MDRF, participation in regional meetings, and on-scene response oversight of environmental incidents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a natural science or related field and 4–6 years of disaster coordination or hazardous materials experience.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain credentials to access federal facilities (REAL I.D. compliant).

Responsibilities

  • Lead ESF #3 (Public Works and Engineering) coordination for state emergencies.
  • Liaise for Recovery Support Function RSF #6 within the MDRF.
  • Represent the department at SEMA Regional Coordination meetings.
  • Serve as a Homeland Security Advisory Committee voting member.
  • Oversee on-site response to environmental emergencies and coordinate with contractors and other agencies.
