Qualifications

  • Familiarity with federal and state disaster recovery requirements.
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal regulations to specific scenarios.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to build client relationships.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel within the state and work onsite as needed.

Responsibilities

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected tobe thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week.

YOUR ROLE.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, policies, and program requirements
  • Make recommendations of cost eligibility
  • Communicate and interact with federal, state, and local partners
  • Provide administrative and clerical support of project-related activities
  • Attend and participate in meetings with federal, state, and local partners
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance regarding program requirements, policies, and procedures
  • Identify, track, and resolve programmatic and project-related issues
  • Coordinate recovery activities with federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial partners
  • Provide technical assistance and support
  • Review, reconcile, and process requests for reimbursement of funds in compliance with federal and state requirements and 2 CFR Part 200
YOUR EXPERIENCE.
The successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree; focus in Emergency Management, Accounting, Business, Construction Management or related field is a plus
  • 1-3 years working with disaster related grants or related disaster response and recovery activities
  • Understanding of Federal and State disaster recovery requirements
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal regulations and policy to specific circumstances
  • A team player with a positive attitude & strong client focus
  • Superior client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Must be organized and be able to handle multiple tasks
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with extended hoursExperience using the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally
  • Strong critical thinking abilities
  • FEMA Public Assistance experience required and Individual Assistance preferred
  • Must be able to work onsite at the client office 3 days per week
  • Must be able to travel within the state to meet the needs of the client, as needed
