Job summary

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Domestic Field Finance Specialist to support disaster relief finances from North Wilkesboro, NC. You will process payments, reimburse expenses, and guide field offices to sustain rebuild efforts with strong internal controls and ERP proficiency.

The role requires GAAP knowledge, travel ~60 days/year, and English fluency. CPA-track candidates are encouraged to apply as you deploy on disaster responses and help manage project finances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field with two years of related accounting experience; CPA candidates encouraged but not required.
• GAAP knowledge and strong internal controls understanding.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
• Advise Finance leadership on budget performance of assigned field offices and project-level commitments for rebuild beneficiaries.
• Maintain knowledge of financial aspects of projects and respond to general inquiries.
• Inform financial leadership of financial challenges originating from/affecting assigned field offices.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews of financial transactions for coding accuracy.
• Maintain PeopleSoft FSCM Project Costing module to ensure accurate restricted fund balances and transaction tagging.
• Travel to field sites to conduct assessments of internal controls and adherence to ministry finance and procurement policies; report findings to management.
• Deploy on disaster responses to implement proper internal controls and provide financial reporting.
• Assist with ERP software training programs for field staff and others as needed.
• Ensure IRS compliance regarding detailed expense substantiation and taxable benefits for field staff.
• Research and provide certifications for sales and use tax exemption in states of operation.
• All other duties as assigned.
