Job summary

The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM) seeks a Public Assistance Program Specialist in Oklahoma City. This full-time role supports FEMA Public Assistance recovery programs, documents review, and applicant coordination for federally declared disasters.

You will liaise with FEMA, state personnel, and applicants to ensure compliance and timely reimbursements, contributing to statewide disaster recovery operations and program improvement.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience requirements include a bachelor’s degree in business, public administration or urban planning plus one year of qualifying experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted; substitution rules apply.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support FEMA Public Assistance recovery programs in accordance with state and federal requirements.
• Review damage documentation, project information, and supporting records for completeness and eligibility.
• Assist applicants with development and submission of project documentation and reimbursement requests.
• Coordinate with FEMA personnel regarding project development questions and eligibility determinations.
• Maintain program documentation and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and procedures.
• Support recovery operations by coordinating with internal divisions, applicants, contractors, and FEMA personnel.
• Coordinate with applicants and agency personnel to support timely processing of State Disaster assistance.
