Job summary

Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM) is seeking a Public Assistance Program Specialist to support the Recovery area in Oklahoma City. This regular, full-time role operates under the Oklahoma Civil Service system and includes a 12-month trial period.

Responsibilities cover FEMA Public Assistance program administration, project development, eligibility review, and coordination with federal partners.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree in business, public administration or urban planning plus one year of qualifying experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support administration of FEMA Public Assistance recovery programs in accordance with state and federal requirements.
• Review damage documentation, project information, and supporting records for completeness and eligibility.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to disaster applicants throughout the recovery process.
• Participate in recovery operations and field support activities, including site inspections and coordination with federal partners.
