Job summary

ICF Olson is seeking a Senior Disaster Recovery Expert for an on-call, part-time role focused on housing and community development. The position is remote with up to 25% travel to state and local government and nonprofit clients.

You will develop and deliver trainings, workshops and webinars, and provide policy guidance for disaster recovery programs. The role requires extensive knowledge of HUD programs, strong facilitation and public speaking skills, and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Public Administration, Planning, Urban Affairs, Public Policy, Government or related discipline or minimum 10 years of professional experience.
• Minimum 15 years knowledge in HUD Office of Community Development Programs including the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program.
• Minimum 5 years demonstrated success developing and delivering trainings, workshops and webinars; facilitation, and public speaking to a variety of audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support a national team of training and technical assistance providers, dedicated to the field of affordable housing.
• Work with diverse stakeholders including cities, counties, states and nonprofit entities receiving technical assistance through HUD and other industry partners.
• Focus on the field of disaster recovery programs.
• Develop/deliver training sessions, conference presentations, workshops, and webinars.
• Focus on best practice and innovative strategies related to disaster recovery.
• Contribute to the design of tools, drafting of reports, and development of policy guidance.
