Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking an experienced Disaster Recovery Consultant to strengthen enterprise DR capabilities. The role focuses on enhancing application recovery planning, improving testing and validation practices, and strengthening second line of defense oversight to ensure critical systems can recover in disruption scenarios.

The consultant will work across technology and business teams to drive tangible improvements within defined timelines, not a steady-state engagement.

Qualifications

9–10+ years in disaster recovery, IT resilience, or technology risk.
Hands-on experience developing and validating DR plans, including application recovery and infrastructure failover.
Experience supporting or executing DR testing (failover, tabletop, simulation).
Strong understanding of recovery concepts (RTO, RPO, data recovery, dependencies).
Ability to collaborate with technology and infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

Review and enhance DR plans with Technology, Infrastructure, and Application teams.
Validate recovery strategies and objectives (RTOs, RPOs, failover capabilities).
Identify gaps in recovery readiness (dependencies, data integrity, availability).
Support DR testing design and execution (simulations, failover exercises).
Synthesize findings into actionable recommendations and track remediation progress.
