Job summary

Decatur Morgan Hospital is seeking an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator to coordinate education, exercises, and compliance programs ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff. The role involves developing emergency procedures, leading disaster planning, and supporting crisis response across the hospital.

The position requires nursing or related emergency services education with at least two years of ICS/NIMS/EOC experience and an active Alabama RN license.

Qualifications

• Education: A graduate of an accredited school of nursing degree or a degree in Emergency Services, Homeland Security, Public Safety, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Two or more years of progressively responsible experience utilizing ICS, NIMS, and EOC systems, organizing events involving public safety and crowd management.
• License/Certification: Current AL RN License

Responsibilities

• Coordinate education and exercises within the organization to ensure an organized response during a disaster.
• Develop emergency procedures and maintain emergency plans based on HVA findings.
• Manage disaster response or crisis management activities for the facility and ensure 24/7 staffing for potential disasters.
