Job summary

Fairbanks North Star Borough seeks an Emergency Management Project Coordinator to support the Emergency Manager by developing and coordinating emergency management projects and preparedness initiatives. The role involves drafting and maintaining EOPs/EOC plans, coordinating community preparedness events, creating educational materials, and supporting special projects to boost community resilience.

The position may assist with EOC activities during activations, exercises, and incidents, requiring

Qualifications

Two+ years as an emergency services professional with project coordination or related duties.
Completion of FEMA NIMS IS courses before start or within first quarter.
Completion of FEMA IS Professional Development Series before start or within first quarter.
Experience developing training programs for adult learners.
Must have a valid driver's license and meet Borough insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

Coordinate assigned emergency management initiatives, including scheduling, stakeholder coordination, deliverables, and tracking.
Draft, update, and maintain EOPs/EOC plans, annexes, and related guidance.
Plan and evaluate community preparedness events, campaigns, and outreach programs.
