Job summary

Dept of State Health Services in Austin, TX seeks a Disaster Finance Manager to lead the Disaster Cost Recovery Team and manage budgeting and financial reporting. The role supports 50% telework eligibility with 50% onsite work in the Program Finance Unit.

The position requires experience in budgeting, financial analysis, staff supervision, and knowledge of state/federal financial policies. Travel is up to 5% and normal daytime shifts apply.

Qualifications

• Experienced in managing budgeting and finance operations.
• Experience developing and analyzing financial reports.
• Experience managing and providing leadership to professional staff.
• Prefer experience in utilizing agency purchasing systems (CAPPS Financials).

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily operations and activities of the Disaster Cost Recovery Team and develops goals, guidelines, and procedures.
• Supervises staff, including hiring, performance evaluations, and leave approvals.
• Evaluates activities, reviews procedures, and ensures compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Represent the Program Finance Section in internal and external workgroups and meetings; assist in system design and implementation.
• Perform other duties as required.
