Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Disaster Engineering Specialist to join our team in the United States. You will conduct site inspections to document infrastructure damage, develop scopes of work and cost estimates, and review engineering reports and as-built plans.

You will coordinate with FEMA, prioritize projects, and provide analyses to support grant delivery during recovery programs. Domestic travel is required and a valid driver’s license is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 5 years of in-field experience or 2 years of in-field of expertise with a professional registration.
• Domestic travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections to validate and record infrastructure damage, including photos and sketches.
• Develop scopes of work and cost estimates, including code and standard requirements.
• Review and analyze engineering reports, designs, and as-built plans; make recommendations on claim eligibility.
• Coordinate with FEMA and applicants to prioritize projects and communicate final determinations.
