Job summary

Midwest Special Services (MSS) is seeking dedicated staff to supervise and train adults with Autism and developmental disabilities in day training and habilitation programs in Shoreview, MN.

Responsibilities include implementing individualized plans, planning activities, supporting communication, and assisting with medications and transportation to activities. Must be able to lift and transfer participants and obtain required certifications within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass other background checks as required by MSS and/or state and federal law.
• Must be able to lift and transfer adults with physical disabilities using appropriate methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and training for adults with Autism, developmental disabilities and multiple physical disabilities in day training and habilitation programs.
• Plan activities and supervise individuals and small groups in center and community outings.
• Assist participants with developing and using functional communication systems and utilizing adaptive equipment to increase independence.
• Pass medications and transport participants to and from the center and community sites.
