Job summary

NorthWest Arkansas Community College is seeking a Disability Resources Counselor to assist the Director in administering services for students with disabilities. You will help ensure equal access to academics, coordinate accommodations, and support high school transition efforts in a diverse college environment.

Responsibilities include intake meetings, documentation review, collaboration with faculty, and maintaining records compliant with state and federal disability laws.

Qualifications

• Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling or closely related field required.
• Must obtain and maintain CRC or LAC certification within 12 months of hire.
• Experience with disability services in higher education is strongly preferred.
• Ability to manage records and consent with confidentiality per laws.

Responsibilities

• Conduct student intake and Access Plan Meetings; review documentation and determine accommodations.
• Coordinate timely implementation of approved academic accommodations and provide guidance.
• Provide transition support for dual enrollment and Early College Experience students.
• Support acquisition and use of alternative-format materials and assistive tech.
• Collaborate with faculty and partners to address access needs and concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of contacts, decisions and related documentation.
• Manage competing priorities and stay current on disability services regulations.
• Represent the department at meetings and contribute to assessments and improvements.
• Supervise student workers, practicum students, and interns as assigned.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
