Job summary

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) seeks an Assistant Director for Assistive Technology - Disability Resources to support students with disabilities and coordinate access services within the Student Affairs division.

The role involves direct service to students, collaboration with faculty, and ensuring compliance with state and federal disability laws while maintaining records and program quality.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Community Mental Health Counseling, Counselor Education, or closely related field.
• At least 2 years of related experience and/or training.
• Must obtain professional certification or licensure (CRC or LAC) within twelve (12) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates student interviews to initiate accommodations (Access Plan Meetings) and determination process.
• Launches timely implementation of academic accommodations for students.
• Provides academic guidance to identified students with disabilities.
• Supports acquisition and production of alternative format textbooks and assistive devices.
• Advises college partners on accessibility of digital media and assistive technology.
• Collaborates with faculty to address accessibility questions and concerns.
• Maintains detailed records compliant with laws and college policies.
• Supervises student workers and interns as assigned.
• Represents the department in campus and community meetings and committees.
