Job summary

TELUS Health is seeking a Concurrent Disability Case Manager to oversee, manage, process, and adjudicate Short-Term Disability (STD) claims and leave requests (FMLA, State, and company-specific). You will work with employees, healthcare providers, and client contacts to ensure compliant decisions and timely return-to-work planning.

The role requires deep regulatory expertise, medical literacy, and excellent communication while maintaining strict confidentiality and collaboration with client

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of direct experience managing Leaves and STD disability case management.
• Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of FMLA, state leave laws, company policies and STD plans.
• Medical literacy: ability to review medical documentation and translate into workplace accommodations.
• Communication: strong interpersonal, negotiation and confidentiality skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and process FMLA and other Federal leaves, Military, State leaves and STD claims.
• Conduct case assessments with employee and client contacts via phone, email or meetings.
• Develop understanding of the situation and factors supporting a successful return to work.
• Review information and consult resources to confirm approved/denied decisions on leaves and STD cases.
• Analyze medical certifications and documentation ensuring compliance with timelines and policies.
• Inform STD claimants of documentation needs, timeframes, and claim status.
