Job summary

Universal MH/DD/SAS in North Carolina seeks a dedicated Job Coach to empower individuals with disabilities in Burke County and surrounding areas.

You will provide one-on-one coaching, on-the-job training, and personalized supports to help clients reach employment goals, with collaboration from families, employers, and the team. Ideal candidates are compassionate, organized, and strong communicators.

Qualifications

• Degree in a human services, business, or related field preferred.
• Previous job coaching or supported employment experience preferred.
• Experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule; some evenings, nights, and weekends may be required during job training.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with individuals to identify vocational interests, skills, and employment goals
• Assist with resume development, job searching, applications, interviewing, and job placement
• Provide on-the-job training and coaching to help individuals learn job duties and succeed in the workplace
• Support individuals in matching employment opportunities with their strengths, abilities, and interests
• Develop and implement individualized employment and training plans
• Help individuals identify and overcome barriers to employment
• Build relationships with local businesses and employers to support job development efforts
• Advocate for reasonable workplace accommodations when needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete required reports in a timely manner
• Collaborate with team members, families, and employers to support successful outcomes
