Job summary

Vadis is seeking an Employment Consultant in Sumner, WA to help people with disabilities find meaningful employment within their communities. You will advocate for clients, partner with businesses, schools and state agencies, and provide coaching and on-site support to ensure successful job starts.

Typical duties include client intake, referrals, and developing work readiness skills while promoting inclusive opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to clients, families, employers, educators, funders and the community.
• Facilitate referral meetings and client intake, explain services and conduct skill assessments.
• Guide person-centered planning to help clients meet employment goals.
• Help clients build work readiness, social and self-advocacy skills through experiences and coaching.
• Develop relationships with local businesses to secure jobs for people with disabilities.
• Lead client job starts and provide on-site training and guidance to clients and supervisors.
