Job summary

Alight Solutions Ltd seeks a temporary Disability Case Manager to administer and case manage assigned Group Disability claims, following plan provisions, state and federal guidelines. They will work with STD, LTD and Risk Management to ensure proper handling of cases.

The role emphasizes proactive outreach, accurate eligibility determinations, and timely communication of claim decisions. Background checks are required, and travel to office locations may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate independent problem solving and decision-making ability.
• Ability to clearly communicate claim decisions and contract language verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate math aptitude, ability to multitask, and analytical skills.
• Have 4-year college education or equivalent work/education experience.
• Experience of 2 years of disability claim management experience, or other previous Group insurance experience.
• Have experience with regulatory and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Using most efficient and effective means of proactive outreach to obtain information from claimants, managers, physicians, HR, payroll, or other sources.
• Communicating claim status and decisions via telephone and in writing.
• Initiating communications to claimant, physician, and plan holder to obtain information and make an initial claim decision.
• Prioritizing and reviewing new claims to adhere to productivity standards.
• Investigating and analyzing claim information to determine coverage and benefit eligibility.
• Determining disability by comparing functionality with the job.
• Following claim management procedures and identifying return-to-work or accommodation opportunities.
• Utilizing claim management resources and disability guidelines.
• Assessing offsets when other income is received to ensure proper calculation.
