Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a motivated LTD Case Specialist in Minnesota to analyze claims, determine benefits, and manage settlements in accordance with plan provisions. This role involves identifying when outside vendors or independent medical evaluations are required and coordinating with management on complex cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; licenses as required.
• Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills.
• Analytical and interpretive skills; strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes assigned claims and determines benefits due.
• Informs claimants of documentation required and timeframes.
• Manages claims to ensure compliance with plan provisions.
• Provides appropriate documentation to LTD Manager for reporting.
• Determines need for outside vendors, surveillance and/or independent medical evaluations.
• Negotiates settlements within designated authority level.
• Makes claim payments and revisions to benefit amounts.
• Communicates status on decisions to client, claimant and supervisor.
• Calculates and collects overpayments.
