Job summary

The Disability Analyst 2 role reviews individual claims for Social Security Title II and XVI programs in Albany, evaluating medical reports, vocational information, and claimant eligibility. The position is full-time and permanent with the New York Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, Division of Disability Determinations, in Albany.

Responsibilities include examining complex medical documentation, conducting claimant and professional interviews, and preparing detailed written analyses

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human biology, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, psychology, nursing, physical therapy, or related medical field.
• Two years of experience adjudicating Social Security Title II and XVI disability claims (50% or more of duties)
• Master’s or doctorate in related field may substitute for experience requirement
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to pass FBI background investigation and fingerprinting required by Social Security Administration
