Job summary

Purdue University is seeking an Access Consultant to work with students with disabilities, coordinating accommodations and support services. Reporting to the Deputy Director of the Disability Resource Center, you will manage a large caseload, provide education to campus partners, and help ensure compliance with relevant disability laws.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree and have experience in higher education settings, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to inclusive access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Student Affairs, Disability Studies, Counseling, or equivalent.
• Two years of higher education or disability-related experience.
• Knowledge of state/federal disability laws in higher education.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, time management and reliability.
• Critical thinker with strong communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn other apps.

Responsibilities

• Meets with students seeking disability-related accommodations.
• Develop reasonable accommodations for academic, housing, dining and parking needs.
• Utilize knowledge of disability law (Section 504, 508, ADAA).
• Maintain accurate student records and notes for data collection.
• Oversee a caseload of over 500 students.
• Collaborate with campus and community partners, including faculty, staff and parents.
