Job summary

The YMCA of Greater New York in Brooklyn’s Greenpoint branch seeks a Director, Youth & Family to lead and grow Youth, Teen, and Family programs across sites. You will supervise staff, align activities with government contracts, and build partnerships with schools and community groups to deliver impactful youth development initiatives.

You will oversee safety, training and reporting, while driving program content in education, physical fitness and cultural awareness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education required; Master’s in Education or Social Work preferred.
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience supervising youth and family programs; 5–8 years of progressive leadership preferred.
  • Knowledge of Youth Development Principles; ACA Camp Director trained preferred.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certifications; Knowledge of Child Abuse Prevention Training.
  • Knowledge of program planning & evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Youth, Teen, and Family Programs.
  • Manage program sites and ensure goals/outcomes meet contracts.
  • Train staff on Association and program policies for safety and quality.
  • Liaise with schools and community partners.
  • Develop program content in education, fitness, and cultural awareness.
  • Oversee reporting to the Association Office, funders, and contracts.
  • Build community partnerships to strengthen program content.
  • Meet budget goals and operating net for all departments.
  • Market programs to achieve enrollment targets (SACC/summer camp).
  • Work with the Board of Managers; act as Manager on Duty.

Master’s Degree in Education or Social Work preferred.* Three (3) - five (5) years of leadership experience supervising youth and family programs.
