Responsibilities

• Maintain high quality childcare standards based on developmentally appropriate practices.
• Supervise all staff at Willow Grove Childcare and Learning Center, including substitutes.
• Oversee hiring process and orientation for all new staff.
• Provide annual performance evaluations for staff.
• Develop a budget for the center and establish budget controls.
• Ensure the program is cost-effective and funds are managed prudently.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and staff at the center.
• Develop, implement and update policies and procedures for the center.
• Ensure compliance with Illinois DCFS rules and inspections.
• Coordinate annual DCFS licensing for the center.
• Maintain files per DCFS requirements.
• Communicate with parents and provide parent education and support.
• Maintain records of staff training and in-service requirements.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the annual licensing of the Willow GroveChild Careand Learning Center with DCFS.
• Oversee the maintenance of files according to DCFS requirements.
• Maintain open,consistentand effective communication with parents, providing parent education training,assistanceand support as needed.
• Provide reliable,accurateandtimelyinformation about the Willow GroveChild Careand Learning Center to interested parties.
• Attain andmaintainmembership in Gateways to Opportunity Registryand maintain records ofstaff.
• Set up,ensuremaintainrecords ofWillow GroveChild Careand Learning Centerstaff meeting annualinservicerequirements of 15 hours per year.
• Follow all rules, regulations, and policies of Memorial Hospital and Hancock County Senior Services and follow directives from supervisors.
• Follow attendance policy as assigned by supervisor.
• Perform other functions that may be assigned by the Administration.
• Attend professional development seminars tomaintainan understanding of the current best practices of curriculum and administrative functions of child development programs.
• Oversee the training and professional development of all Willow GroveChild Careand Learning Center staff.
• Articulate the center’s mission to employees and other stakeholders andsolicitsupport in realizing the mission.
• Useappropriateand effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
• Represent the center in a professional,courteous,and positive manner at all times.
• Promote a positive, caring climate for learning for staff, students, and parents.
• Deal sensitively and fairly withpersonsfrom diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Communicateeffectivelywithstaff,studentsand their families.
• Perform any and all duties as assigned.
• Successfully advances Hospital Foundation initiatives.
