Qualifications

• Three years of experience as a classroom teacher of young children.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Associate’s Degree in Child Development/Early Childhood Education OR 64 semester hours with 21 in child development/early childhood education.
• Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential OR 3 semester hours in administration, leadership, or management.
• Active Food Manager Certificate (or obtained prior to hire).
• Completion of Lead Safety Training, including mitigation plan strategies and impact of lead exposure.
• Active CPR certification for pediatric ages (or obtained within two weeks of hire).

Responsibilities

• Maintain high quality childcare standards based on developmentally appropriate practices.
• Supervise all staff at Willow Grove Childcare and Learning Center, including substitutes.
• Oversee hiring process and orientation for all new staff.
• Provide annual performance evaluations for staff.
• Develop a budget for the center and establish budget controls.
• Ensure the program is cost-effective and funds are managed prudently.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and staff at the center.
• Develop, implement and update policies and procedures for the center.
• Ensure compliance with Illinois DCFS rules and inspections.
• Coordinate annual DCFS licensing for the center.
• Maintain files per DCFS requirements.
• Communicate with parents and provide parent education and support.
• Maintain records of staff training and in-service requirements.

Associate’s Degree in Child Development/Early Childhood Education
