Job summary

TGG Accounting seeks a Director of Western Timberlands to lead timberlands across California and Oregon from Chester, CA. You will own timberland results, log supply for the mill, and drive 2–3 years of post-fire recovery and succession planning.

This role requires relocation to Chester or willingness to move and manage cross-state teams. You will direct budgeting and capital planning, ensure FSC compliance, and foster lasting partnerships with the mill and field managers.

Qualifications

• Degree in forest management or natural resources is required.
• Western softwood experience typical from OR, WA, or CA.
• 7+ years of leadership, with a progressive path from field forestry.
• Deep command of timber, land, and yield.
• Relationship builder with long-tenured teams and the mill; change leader.

Responsibilities

• Direct two-state operations by supervising Chester and Oregon managers.
• Own log flow targets and partner with the mill on timberlands results.
• Support procurement and budget/P&L including capital planning.
• Lead reforestation and recovery programs over 2–3 years.
• Ensure FSC audits, federal contracts, and RPF sign-offs when possible.
• Mentor promotable managers and guide succession planning.
• Oversee valuation, yield, and land assessment as needed.
