Job summary

WM is seeking a Director of Wastewater Process Engineering to lead enterprise-wide initiatives focused on landfill liquids management and treatment across all facilities. The role reports to the Sr.

Director of ES&WT and drives policy, design, and operational excellence to meet environmental standards. Responsibilities include directing leachate treatment facility projects, managing external consultants, and ensuring compliance with discharge permits, with strong emphasis on leadership and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• At least 10 years in total with 7+ years in industrial wastewater treatment design/ops.
• Master’s degree preferred with 10+ years of relevant exp.
• PE license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of wastewater/liquids management programs.
• Direct permitting, design, and construction of leachate treatment facilities.
• Develop action plans using flow and mass balances to improve treatment performance.
• Provide technical leadership and collaborate with internal/external SMEs.
