Job summary

WM is seeking a Director, Wastewater Process Engineer to lead enterprise-wide initiatives for landfill liquids management and treatment within the ES&WT program. This role reports to the Sr. Director and focuses on policy, systems, and best practices across facilities.

You will drive regulatory compliance, develop innovative treatment solutions, and collaborate with internal teams and external experts to improve performance and environmental outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
• Master's degree (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Directs policy creation and training for landfill liquids handling and treatment.
• Leads design and permitting of leachate treatment facilities.
• Uses flow and mass balance tools to optimize leachate treatment and regulatory compliance.
• Oversees external consultants and researchers on new environmental technologies.
• Balances financial goals with regulatory requirements.
