Job summary

WM is seeking a Director of Wastewater Process Engineering to lead enterprise-wide initiatives for landfill liquids management and treatment. You will supervise policy development, design and implementation, and regulatory compliance across facilities, reporting to the Sr. Director of ES&WT.

You will guide complex projects, collaborate with experts, and drive innovative treatment solutions while aligning with environmental standards and business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years total experience with 7+ years in industrial wastewater design/operations.
• Master's degree preferred; 3+ years of management preferred.
• PE license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate research, procedures and operations for landfill liquids management.
• Lead permitting, design and construction of leachate treatment facilities.
• Use flow and mass balances to improve treatment performance and compliance.
• Drive policy development and technology research for environmental solutions.
• Coordinate with management and regulators on standards and compliance.
