Job summary

WM is seeking a Director of Wastewater Process Engineering to lead enterprise-wide initiatives for landfill liquids management and treatment. The role reports to the Sr. Director of ES&W T and will set policies and best practices for handling, treating, and disposing of landfill liquids across WM facilities.

Responsibilities include regulatory monitoring, technical leadership, and collaboration with corporate and field personnel. Must live and work in the US; travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering/science with environmental focus; 10+ years overall experience
• 7+ years in industrial wastewater design/operations
• Master's degree preferred; 3+ years of management preferred
• PE license preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Lead development of environmental policies, procedures, and best practices for landfill liquids management.
• Provide technical leadership for complex wastewater projects across the organization.
• Oversee design, permitting, and construction of leachate treatment facilities; due diligence during asset acquisition.
• Collaborate with internal and external SMEs on technology R&D and compliance strategies.
