Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers in Houston seeks a Director of Operations to lead grocery and perishable warehouse operations and maintenance at a high-volume distribution center. The role owns the annual operating plan and budget, drives customer-focused performance, and oversees safety, security, and asset management while coaching leaders to build bench strength and succession.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in General Studies required.
7-10 years in warehouse operations, distribution, logistics and/or supply chain.
Experience leading large distribution center operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Review and evaluate performance of all distribution center functions and address gaps to ensure goals.
Oversee annual operating budget and capital expenditures for warehouses, garage, fleet, offices and support functions.
Direct communication with customers to ensure service quality and reliability.
Maintain a safe environment and enforce health and safety regulations; ensure security of facilities and personnel.
Recruit and train team members and develop succession plans and coaching to improve performance.
