Job summary

Oklahoma State University’s Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (OADDL) in Stillwater seeks a Director to provide strategic leadership for a full-service veterinary diagnostic laboratory. The incumbent will hold a tenure-track or career-track faculty appointment in the Department of Veterinary Pathobiology at Associate or Full Professor rank, reporting to the Dean.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree and an advanced degree.
• At least five years of experience in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory or relevant work experience.
• At least five years directing/supervising experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic vision and leadership for OADDL.
• Provide administrative and fiscal oversight with resource management and long-term sustainability.
• Develop strategies to expand diagnostic services, revenue, partnerships, and client base.
• Maintain OADDL’s reputation for high-quality, timely, and innovative diagnostics.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and standards.
• Maintain accreditation with AAVLD and NAHLN requirements.
• Collaborate with the OADDL Board of Advisors and Oklahoma stakeholders.
• Support teaching, training, and service missions within the College of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
• Foster excellence, innovation, collaboration, professional development, and client service.
• Represent OADDL and OSU with governmental agencies and external partners.
