Job summary

United Way of Central Alabama seeks a Program Director for the Staff Sgt. Fox Suicide Prevention Program to lead a caring team and connect Veterans with life-changing resources. The role focuses on partnerships, program compliance, budgeting, and operations to support veterans and their families.

The candidate will oversee day-to-day operations, supervise staff, coordinate with federal/state partners, and ensure grant outcomes are met while advancing outreach and CQI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field; licensed preferred.
• Minimum five years of relevant work experience in program management and supervision.
• Experience with federal, state and local veteran programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the program serving Veterans and military families.
• Develop partner networks, ensure program compliance and manage site operations.
• Supervise staff, manage budgeting and support CQI activities.
• Serve as liaison with the local Veterans Administration and Continuums of Care.
• Build public partnerships to promote services and sustain outreach.
• Ensure grant outcomes are met and coordinate the Continuous Quality Improvement plan.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
