Silicon Labs, a leader in low-power wireless connectivity, is seeking a Director of Verification for US and Europe in Austin, TX. You will head the IoT Digital Design verification org, driving AI-enhanced verification and building capabilities across MCU architecture and IP-to-SoC levels.

You’ll lead cross-region teams, shape verification strategies, and collaborate with Architecture, Digital & Wireless Design, and Backend teams while advancing quality processes and security awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical and/or Computer Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in chip design or verification.
• Proven knowledge of architecture and verification methodologies for MCU/Memory/Peripherals/Interconnects/Clocks/Reset/Low Power.
• Knowledge of wireless protocols to support data-path verification.
• Experience in AI platforms like Cursor / Claude.
• Experience in managing teams and building capabilities from ground up.
• Knowledge of Mixed Signal Design Styles (Analog, RNM modelling).
• Strong experience in Formal/Functional/UPF based verification and coverage strategies.
• Chip boot flow and security architecture knowledge.
• Team-building mindset and leadership能力.

Responsibilities

About The Team

The IoT Digital Design team is a state-of-the-art IC design team focused on producing world class Wireless MCU SoCs. The architecture specification, design, verification, emulation, and implementation of the Wireless MCU SoCs is the responsibility of the IoT Digital team. These SoCs include an embedded CPU system with analog and digital peripherals, advanced security, advanced power management, and best in class radios to support a wide range of wireless IoT applications and standards. We strive to provide best in class technology solutions through innovation in custom RISC-V Cores and AI/ML components.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Verification Organization in US and Europe for IP / Sub-system / SoC Verification
• Develop and Drive the US and Europe verification teams towards Gen-AI based verification
• Skills-building in MCU architecture from IP to SoC and deliver multiple products.
• Develop solid foundation in MCU infrastructure (clocks / reset / low power / interconnects/ wireless data paths)
• Work cross function with Architecture / Digital & Wireless Design / Backend Implementation Teams to establish solid foundation and handoffs for Formal/Functional/UPF based verification.
• Enhance Quality Management System to ensure process adherence and critical systemic processes to ensure quality and resourcing for projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Skills You Will Need

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical and/or Computer Engineering
• 15+ years of experience in Chip Design / Verification Role
• Strong Proven Industry knowledge on architecture & verification methodologies in Chip Infrastructure (MCU/Memories/Peripherals/Interconnect/Clocks/Reset/Low Power)
• Knowledge of wireless protocols to help develop critical skills for data-path verification
• Experience in AI platforms like Cursor / Claude
• Experience in managing teams and building capabilities from ground up.
• Knowledge of Mixed Signal Design Styles (Analog Design and Integration, RNM modelling, MCU infrastructure elements like clocks/reset/interconnects/IO)
• Strong Experience in Formal / Functional / UPF based verification / Coverage to define right strategies for verification.
• Knowledge of Chip Boot Flow / Security Architecture
• Strong Mindset of Team Building

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $166,600 - $309,400 USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
