Job summary

United Nations Development Coordination Office (UNDCO) in New York seeks a Chief of Intergovernmental Affairs to lead engagement with Member States, support the RC system, and coordinate with regional and UN entities. Qualifications

• Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in a relevant field such as sustainable development, economics, public policy, political science, public administration, finance, law or social sciences.
• A first-level university degree with significant qualifying experience may be accepted as an alternative.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and review of Member State engagement strategies to support the RC system and UNDCO's mandate.
• Coordinate engagement with DCO sections, Regional Directors, and Resident Coordinators.
• Strengthen systems for monitoring and analyzing intergovernmental deliberations in bodies like the General Assembly and ECOSOC.
• Oversee preparation of analysis and briefings for senior management and collaborate with UN Secretariat officials.
• Support the UN's regional architecture and coordinate internal working groups.
• Prepare inputs for key reports such as the SG's report on QCPR and support the Deputy Secretary-General's Regional Collaborative Platforms.
