Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) seeks a Program Director of Translational Research Education to lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs in translational biomedical sciences.

The role partners with faculty, staff, and students to advance curriculum, accreditation compliance, and student mentoring while guiding grant activities and research training initiatives across ITS Operations and the Office of Educational Programs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education or higher education.
• Five+ years of experience in translational biomedical sciences education or related field.
• Experience with program development or administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and enhance curricula for translational biomedical sciences education programs.
• Oversee program administration, including scheduling and events.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead recruitment strategies for PhD and MS programs within the Institute for Translational Sciences, Office of Educational Programs.
• Collaborate with faculty and stakeholders to advance program evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Mentor staff and coordinate mentoring programs to support student success and career development.
• Manage grant activities, milestones, and reporting.
