Job description

The hiring range for this role is:
$155,000.00 - $175,000.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the hiring range, and this range may be modified in the future. A candidate's position within the range depends on factors such as competencies, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and organizational needs. The role is also eligible for annual bonus incentive pay.

Note: Pay amounts are considered wages only when earned, vested, and determinable. Bonuses, commissions, or other compensation are at the company's discretion until paid and may be modified.

Synergie Medication Collective, founded by Blue Cross and Blue Shield affiliated companies, aims to improve drug affordability and access for nearly 100 million Americans. The Trade Client Strategy Director manages clinical policies, liaises with participants, and supports clinical decision-making to ensure compliance with manufacturer contracts.

Primary Job Functions
  • Consult with Client Relations on Trade inquiries and initiatives.
  • Understand the impact of rebate and formulary strategies and communicate effectively with health plans.
  • Have knowledge of PBM operations and drug policy implementation.
  • Interpret pharmaceutical manufacturer contracts and align them with UM policies.
  • Manage clinical policies to ensure manufacturer contract compliance.
  • Support the Client Relations team with inquiries.
Stakeholder Partnerships
  • Analytics Team: Collaborate on drug trends and utilization data.
  • Client Relations: Serve as primary contact for Participant questions.
  • Clinical Team: Review clinical data and policy needs.
  • Invoicing Team: Maintain policy library and support inquiries.
  • Product Team: Provide policy support for contracts and outcomes programs.
Education, Experience, and Certification
  • Pharmacy degree and PharmD preferred.
  • 5-7 years in healthcare, PBM, utilization management, or related fields.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to apply clinical data to financial value.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Pharmacy residency or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with PBM, Medicaid, Medicare, and health plans.
  • Contract language and risk mitigation knowledge.

Travel up to 10%.
Work is generally remote.
