Job summary

Welltower Inc. seeks a Director of Total Rewards to lead compensation, benefits, and payroll operations. You will drive governance, data integrity, and scalable processes across multi-state payroll and vendor management, aligning with a market-competitive strategy.

You will partner with Human Capital, Finance, and Legal to translate strategy into reliable execution, delivering analytics and executive materials while building a high-performing Total Rewards team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience across total rewards—compensation, benefits, and payroll.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred (CCP, CEBS, CPP).
• Strong experience in compensation administration, market pricing, incentive plan execution, and job architecture.
• Hands-on experience with benefits programs and open enrollment; multi-state payroll operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day administration of compensation programs, including base pay, incentives, and equity administration.
• Manage annual and off-cycle compensation reviews end to end, including planning, system configuration, modeling, communications, and on-time delivery.
• Maintain and apply the job architecture framework, including leveling, banding, and career pathing.
• Partner with HRBPs and business leaders to deliver compensation recommendations and retention strategies.
• Support executive compensation analysis and materials with senior leadership.
• Oversee employee benefits programs and annual open enrollment.
• Own payroll function, ensuring accurate processing across cycles and jurisdictions.
• Ensure payroll tax, garnishments, regulatory reporting, and internal controls are met.
• Maintain data integrity across HRIS, payroll, benefits, and time-tracking systems.
• Manage vendor relationships and RFP processes for total rewards vendors.
• Forecasting, accruals, and reconciliation with Finance for total rewards costs.
• Ensure compliance with compensation, benefits, and payroll regulations.
