Job summary

Freddie Mac is seeking a Director, Title Risk Assessment and Automation Solutions to lead automated title risk assessment for single-family loans. You will drive data sourcing, rules-based and analytics-driven engines, and governance across Legal, Compliance, and FHFA stakeholders.

The role requires deep domain expertise in title insurance and mortgage data, strong leadership, and a proven ability to translate complex risk concepts for senior management.

Qualifications

• 10-12 years+ of experience in title industry designing/implementing title risk assessment solutions.
• Deep understanding of title data sources, title search/examination, and underwriting standards.
• Experience using automation and models to drive risk and profitability decisions.
• Ability to translate analytics into simple concepts for senior leadership.
• Proven leadership abilities and stakeholder collaboration across functions.

Responsibilities

• Support executive leadership in developing and executing the title risk assessment strategy.
• Identify and prioritize data sources for automated title risk assessment (public records, title data, tax data, lien data, etc.).
• Assess data availability, accuracy, timeliness, coverage, lineage, and usability.
• Lead design, evaluation, and enhancement of automated title risk engines.
• Translate title concepts into business rules, data requirements, and technology needs.
• Evaluate automated title solutions, vendors, and emerging technologies.
• Partner with modeling, analytics, and technology teams on risk frameworks (rules, scorecards, exception logic).
• Work with Legal, Compliance, Fair Lending, and regulators to ensure responsible solutions.
• Define monitoring/governance frameworks with metrics for performance and risk trends.
• Identify emerging title risks and data quality issues for escalation.
• Lead strategies to simplify loan manufacturing while managing risk.
• Communicate complex concepts clearly to executives and stakeholders.
