Job summary

The Richmond Group USA, on behalf of a leading Manufacturing & Industrial client, seeks a Corporate Technical Director to lead technology, innovation, and product development across a growing business segment. You will shape technical strategy and commercialization, partnering with the VP/GM and other leaders.

Ideal candidates bring a strong foundation in polymers, elastomers, rubber technologies, or advanced materials, plus the leadership to build and develop an emerging technical organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of progressive Technical, R&D, Product Development, or Innovation leadership experience.
• Experience with Polymers, Elastomers, Rubber Technologies, Specialty Materials, or related engineered materials.
• Experience taking products from concept through commercialization and production scale-up.
• Multi-site leadership exposure strongly preferred.
• Role is based in South Carolina / Charleston area (Relocation Assistance is available).

*HIGH VISIBILITY ROLE***** Corporate Technical Director – Technology & Innovation Leader

The TRG Growth Practice has recently been engaged by one of our top Manufacturing & Industrial clients to help on-board a Corporate Technical Director to lead Technology, Innovation, and Product Development across a growing business segment.

This organization is looking for a strong Technical and R&D Leader to join their leadership team and help shape the future of their high impact products. This role will have the opportunity to own technical strategy, product innovation, people development, and commercialization – influencing the business at a very high level while partnering directly with the VP/GM and other key functional leaders.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in Polymer Science, Elastomer Technology, Rubber, Chemistry, or Advanced Materials, coupled with the leadership capability to build and develop an emerging technical organization.

We need someone who can operate strategically while still understanding the science behind the products – leading teams of Chemists, Engineers, and other technical resources while driving new technologies from concept and formulation through prototyping, testing, validation, scale-up, and production.

This individual will also partner closely with Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations to ensure new products and technologies move seamlessly from the lab into commercial production.
