Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company seeks a Director of Internal Audit – Technology Assurance & Advisory to lead IT risk and audit across technology-enabled processes, systems, and controls. You will manage a portfolio with 4–5 direct reports, guide risk-based assurance, and advance cyber and data governance in a hybrid environment.

Reporting to the AVP, you will shape audit strategy, develop talent, and partner with senior leaders to deliver value while maintaining independence and objectivity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, technical, or related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, CPCU, PMP desired.
• Typically ten+ years of audit, risk management or related experience.
• Insurance/financial services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of audit professionals including performance management and talent development.
• Oversee the audit and advisory program across ITGCs and ITACs.
• Coordinate audits, manage resources and budget effectively.
• Draft findings and recommendations to mitigate risks and improve controls.
• Ensure remediation and reporting, driving continuous improvement.
