Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Director, Internal Audit to lead quality assurance and continuous improvement across the Office of Internal Audit Leadership Team. The role reports to the AVP and focuses on advancing innovative practices to support Nationwide’s strategic priorities.

Ideal candidates bring extensive internal audit and risk-management experience, with certifications such as CIA, CPA, CISA, CFE, or PMP preferred.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in internal audit, risk management or related field.
• Experience with insurance/financial services preferred.
• Certifications like CIA, CPA, CISA, CFE or PMP are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead IA Quality Assurance and Improvement Program with testing, reporting and external assessments.
• Apply data analytics, AI, and audit technology to drive performance and improvements.
• Provide risk insights to support audit planning and annual risk assessment.
• Lead complex QA engagements from planning to reporting with sound risk assessment.
• Partner with senior leadership and stakeholders as trusted advisor.
• Lead strategic initiatives and respond to evolving standards and risks.
• Develop communication materials for senior leaders and grow IA capabilities.
• Manage and coach a team of 5–6 associates.
