Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. in Seattle seeks a Director of Strategic Sourcing - Technology to lead a team spanning Software, Hardware, Telecom, and AI/Infrastructure spend. Build partnerships with Nordstrom's Technology organization and drive speed, value, and end-to-end outcomes.

The role is hybrid, based in downtown Seattle; in-office four days per week. You will recruit and develop talent, negotiate major technology deals, and influence senior executives with market intelligence and innovative sourcing

Qualifications

• 12+ years of global strategic sourcing/procurement experience, ideally supporting a Technology organization in a high-growth, retail, or fast-paced enterprise environment.
• 10+ years of team leadership and/or people management experience.
• Demonstrated track record of building trust with skeptical technology stakeholders and turning trust into faster outcomes.
• Market-leading knowledge of global market analysis, supplier relationships, and multi-year negotiation strategies.
• Familiarity with AI and agentic sourcing tools and their impact on strategy and negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead a technology sourcing organization with accountability and coaching to stakeholder teams.
• Drive speed and urgency in deals while maintaining diligence and governance.
• Partner early with Technology leaders, aligning roadmap and budget planning.
• Develop and execute technology category strategies including risk management.
• Manage supplier performance and drive continuous improvement with strategic partners.
• Apply market intelligence and AI insights to surface risk, savings, and innovation.
• Build forward-looking pipeline of technology deals and negotiations.
