Job summary

IEEE seeks a Director of Technology for Impact and Sustainability to lead strategic initiatives across Humanitarian Technologies and Climate Tech. The role oversees operations, partnerships, budgets, and program growth, directly guiding a matrix organization and supervising 4+ direct reports.

The position emphasizes strategic alignment with IEEE priorities, cross-functional leadership, and external engagement to advance climate technology programs and impact metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferably in Engineering, Business, Marketing or International Relations Req
• Master's or other advanced degree Req
• 10-15 years Proven track record in planning, development, incubation and deployment of strategic programs in the technology for impact space Req
• 4-7 years At least 4 years of experience in Technology for Sustainability required Req

Responsibilities

• Drive strategic leadership and operational excellence across Humanitarian Technologies and Climate Tech.
• Lead incubation and execution of new strategic initiatives across departments.
• Manage contracts and procurement processes to ensure compliance and timely execution.
• Oversee budgeting and financial management across portfolios, including planning and reporting.
• Develop and manage partnerships with internal IEEE units and external organizations.
• Lead marketing, branding, and outreach strategies for both departments.
