About the role

The Tax Strategy Director plays a key role in shaping tax outcomes for strategic business initiatives. This position provides expert tax guidance on complex transactions, including reinsurance, entity structuring, and legislative changes, across federal, state, and international jurisdictions. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to evaluate and optimize the tax and financial impacts of proposed actions, supports implementation for compliance and reporting, and shares insights across tax and finance functions.

What you will do

  • Contribute to cross-functional strategic projects by evaluating and advising on tax impacts of proposed business initiatives across U.S. federal, state, and international jurisdictions (e.g., Bermuda, Japan, OECD Pillar Two).
  • Review and advise on transaction documents and treaties, using external advisors and subject matter experts as needed.
  • Prepare tax accounting policy memos and supporting documentation for project conclusions.
  • Support tax operational teams in the execution and implementation of transactions and strategies.
  • Collaborate with financial planning teams to enhance tax modeling for U.S. GAAP, statutory, Bermuda regulatory, cash flow forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Monitor tax legislative and regulatory developments, participate in industry committees, and communicate key updates to internal leadership.
  • Assist in modeling and implementing changes resulting from new tax laws and regulations.
  • Identify and develop tax planning opportunities, including those related to deferred tax asset (DTA) valuation allowances and admissibility, and present findings to leadership to support business decisions.
